Panel Widgets
Desktop widgets that look like little machines.
Panel puts 56 widgets on your Mac desktop, each styled as a miniature hardware device — graphite or cream casing, an inset black screen, monospace firmware type, and real cream-and-orange keys on the featured widgets that actually press. Clocks, weather, music, RSS, reminders, system stats and more, plus 48 built-in Mac-tribute wallpapers so the whole desktop matches.
Description
Most widgets look like software. Panel's look like equipment.
Every one of Panel's 56 widgets is a tiny device: a casing with a machined edge, a dark inset display, and firmware-style monospace type. Four featured widgets go further with physical keys — cream circles and one orange action key — that really work. The Weather Deck switches between four screens at a key press. Now Playing and the Remote drive Apple Music. The Notes Deck flips through your notes and pins one with the orange key. The RSS Deck cycles headlines and opens the story in your browser.
The hardware is yours to spec. Two casings — graphite or cream — switchable for every widget at once, or per widget, or automatically: cream in Light Mode, graphite in Dark Mode. Four accents for the action key and the hero numbers. Ten numeral styles for the big readouts, from the default firmware mono to a dot-matrix face, a sci-fi face, and a hairline.
And because a machine deserves the right desk, Panel is a themer, not just a widget pack. It ships with 12 Mac-tribute wallpaper designs — Dither, 1984, Disk Slot, Apple II, Tower and more — each in Beige and Platinum colorways and in 5K and MacBook sizes, applied with one click. Or import your own images and they join the collection permanently.
The widgets do real work, too. Tap a reminder to check it off. Log a glass of water. Start the focus timer. Follow three stocks and your RSS feeds. Watch CPU, memory, GPU and storage sweep across one screen. Click the weather, calendar or reminders widgets and they open Apple's own apps.
Everything runs on your Mac. No account, no subscription, no data leaving your machine.

Permissions
Panel only asks for access when a widget needs it: Reminders and Calendar for the agenda widgets, location for local weather, Music for the remote keys, and Mail (off by default) for the inbox count. Each one is a standard macOS permission prompt, and everything keeps working without them — widgets you don't connect simply show sample data.
